Boys Varsity Cross Country · Braves Boys XC Competes at Granville Invitational


The Olentangy High School boys cross country team traveled to Bryn du Mansion to compete in the Granville Invitational over the weekend.  It was unseasonably cold and rainy for this meet.  The Granville Invitational is a large meet boasting 14 teams from central Ohio and beyond.

The boys varsity team placed 5th out of 14 teams in the 5k race.  Leading the running Braves was junior captain, Carter Schaefer, placing first for Olentangy and 19th overall with a time of 17:27.  Also scoring for the varsity team included junior, Sam Holt (24th place, 17:39), junior, Caden Ehrhardt (32nd, 18:00), sophomore, Mikey Worboy (37th, 18:04) and junior, Afton Freeman (40th, 18:06).

The boys open race secured a respectable 3rd place finish out of 14 teams led by sophomore, Pietro Pozzi in 6th place overall with a time of 18:42 followed by junior, Max Garner (15th place, 19:15.3), junior, Hayden Kerekes (16th place, 19:15.7), sophomore, Patrick Schirtzinger (24th, 19:32), and sophomore, Riyadh Ahmad (29th, 19:34).

The boys travel to Watkins Memorial High School next weekend for the McGowan Invitational to run on a team favorite course.  The boys reserve team runs at 4pm, boys varsity at 5pm and the boys open at 6pm. Run Brave!

Boys Varsity Cross Country · OHS Boys XC Dominates Mt. Vernon John Fair Invitational


The Olentangy High School Boys Cross Country team took first place at the Mt. Vernon John Fair Invitational placing six runners in the top 10!  Olentangy was one of seven schools competing in the season opening 5k race.  New this year, the invitational was held on Kenyon College’s rolling campus.

Senior captain, Cullen Sainey, led the running Braves placing 3rd overall with a time of 17:23 followed by junior captain, Carter Schaefer (4th place, 17:24), sophomore, Chandler Moyer (6th place, 17:30), junior, Sam Holt (7th place, 17:34), freshman, Jack Dunlop (8th place, 17:44) and junior, Afton Freeman (9th place, 17:45). Great representation and strong promise for the season ahead. 

The boys cross country team travels to Granville next Saturday to participate in the Granville Invitational at Bryn Du Mansion.  Run Brave!
